Many times, we are our own worst critic. Reflect on how you talk to yourself, or think about on a daily basis. Would you talk that way about your friend? About your sibling? Probably not, so  why is it okay to talk about yourself that way?

  • Replace self-criticism with encouraging affirmations, to increase confidence, improve performance, and manage anxiety.

  • Use Affirmations: Start the day with positive statements like "I am enough" or "I trust in my abilities" or “I made a mistake, all humans make mistakes”

During the month of March, challenge yourself to speak kindly to yourself.

The Holy Spirit is in the house!!! As we journey through lent, keep your heart and eyes open to the presence of the Holy Spirit! Daily you will find tiny white doves, a symbol of the Holy Spirit,  hidden around the common areas of the school. If you find one, pop into the office and let them know you found the Holy Spirit and they will get you a sweet treat. If you find an additional one this lent, please leave it there for someone else to find.

Lanyard reminder: Always visible and around your neck at all times. If lost/forgotten, please visit the business office.

This year's theme, "Sprinkle Kindness" reminds us that small actions can make a big difference. The 2026 Pink Shirt Day campaign artwork shows a child wearing an umbrella while hearts fall like rain. This symbolizes how kindness spreads when we choose to share it with others.

Belonging day is an opportunity for all of us to help create a school where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported. In fact, Pink Shirt Day began in Canada when students stood up for a peer who was treated unkindly for wearing pink - proving that a simple act of support can spark a nationwide movement.

Let's show what belonging looks like at LSL, not only today, but each and every day. Thank you for wearing pink and for sprinkling kindness throughout our school today!

Over the weekend of Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship, two LSL students earned first-placed titles.

They showed outstanding skill and sportsmanship and will now advance to the Regional Competition. Congratulations to both students - way to make the Barons proud!

Wearing pink in one visible way we show that we stand together in kindness and solidarity. More importantly, belonging day challenges us to live our faith daily.

Sometimes we feel overstimulated by our environment, our class is too loud, the room is too bright, and there’s just too much going on.

If you feel overstimulated, find a quiet, safe space to reduce input, use mindfulness or deep breathing to relax, close your eyes, do a head to body scan to ground yourself. It is important to identify your triggers so you know what is causing this feeling. Lastly, take time to reset and clear your thoughts. If overstimulation is constant and affecting you daily, reach out to a trusted adult who can help you.

Please do not take food from the cart if you've had a big breakfast, and save the food for those of us who truly need it. Bell Let’s Talk Day.

Bell Let’s Talk Day Announcement

Today is Bell Let’s Talk Day. Mental health impacts everyone, and today Canadians are encouraged to pause and give mental health the moment it deserves.

Taking a moment can mean:

Taking care of and being in tune with your own mental health

Reaching out and supporting the mental health of those around you

OR

Recognizing the importance of mental health in our school and society through learning, listening, and caring

These moments are important, but they do not replace professional treatment, or supports. If you or someone you know needs help, please reach out to a trusted adult in your life or teacher in the building or visit our wonderful student services support team!

Aligning with the theme of this year's Bell Let's Talk day, we invite students and teachers to take a moment following announcements to allow for quiet reflection. Please reflect on one of the following prompts..

One moment I can take today to support my mental health is…

EXAMPLES: Going for a walk, reaching out to a teacher for support, reflecting on your strengths, enjoying a favorite treat or past time.

One small way I can show kindness or support to someone else today is…

EXAMPLES: Checking in with a friend or classmate, offering a smile or complement, listening without judgment to a teammate,
Or including someone who may feel left out.

Today, let’s be mindful, compassionate, and supportive — to ourselves and to one another. Thank you for taking a moment for mental health on Bell Let’s Talk Day.

With the start of Advent  we are once again inviting our students to "find Jesus". Throughout advent here will be literal mini Jesus figures hidden throughout the school. Each day there will be approximately 10 on each side to be found in main school areas, not in classrooms. There will be some hidden before students arrive in the am, and they will be replenished throughout the day. When you "find Jesus" you can take him to main office and tell them you "found Jesus" and receive a "J" shaped candy cane to enjoy. 😉"Jesus" is yours to keep. Not everyone will find a mini Jesus, He is pretty special. If you have found Him, please stop looking and leave them for others to experience the joy!

As a Catholic community our hope is that through this activity we will be reminded  to invite Jesus to be a part of our advent season, after all, Jesus IS the reason.

👯‍♂️ The rules are simple:

Team up with a friend or group

Pick two (or more) words that rhyme

Dress up to match those words — even if they’re totally unrelated!

🎭 Examples to spark your imagination:

Wig & Pig

Santa & Fanta

Nerd & Bird

Wi-Fi & French Fry

Waiter & Skater

Ref & Chef

Let your creativity run wild — the sillier, the better! We can’t wait to see what rhyme-inspired chaos you come up with.
