Monday September 21
Good morning Barons! As lead up to our Terry Fox run this Thursday, we'll be sharing some facts about Terry and the Marathon of Hope every morning this week. Did you know that before Terry Fox began running, his biggest passion was basketball. He practiced so hard that even after losing his leg, he made the varsity wheelchair basketball team and won three national championships. Terry teaches us that you don’t have to be perfect, you just have to try. Let’s bring that energy to our Terry Fox Run and do our very best!

Did you know that one of our BIGGEST school-wide events — SMASH — is just around the corner?! If you've been a Baron for a while, you know that SMASH is more than just a tournament — it's an event that brings our entire school community together! And to make such a big event happen, we need an awesome crew of student volunteers behind the scenes. So, whether you're looking to earn service hours, want to get more involved at LSL, or just want to be part of a super fun school event, we want YOU! Come check out our SMASH Student Job Fair in the gym over lunch on Wednesday, September 23rd! There will be lots of different jobs and ways to get involved, and the Job Fair is open to both Junior High and High School students. Come find your job, join the SMASH crew, and help us make this year's tournament one to remember!

Thursday September 17
Monster Smash is Coming Soon! All students, grades 7-12 are invited to create a design for Louis' important Volley ball tournament. No AI, this must be made by you! Winning entry must include the following texts: Monster Smash, Volleyball, 2026, and Louis St. Laurent. Designs are due Tues Sept 29 to Miss L. in the Art Room 252. Create a monstrous smashing image and win!
Reminder to grade 12s about the UofA presentation today. You will be called down just before 9. Teachers please come down with your classes.
Students on a spare block 2 please be respectful of sharing the space in the Cafeteria for these presentations.
To the Grad Committee a reminder to Please submit your design ideas to the google classroom ASAP.
It's time to start collecting Toonies for Terry! Please bring in toonies to your barons block for collection and HS block 4 classes. All money raised goes directly to Canadian cancer research. The class that collects the most will get a sweet treat!
There will be a quick JH Girls volleyball meeting in Mrs. Cronin's room today at the end of the day from 12-12:15. If you plan on trying out you NEED to be there!!!

To all Grade 12 Students The U of A will be visiting us on Thursday, September 17, from 9:00–10:00 a.m. They will begin with a short presentation, followed by an opportunity to visit different faculty booths, ask questions, and gather information about programs and admissions. Make sure to take advantage of this opportunity!

We got a double header Home Opener tonight with both Sr. Varsity Volleyball teams watch the men's team take on Millwoods Christian at 5 and then Women's team play St. Andre Bessette.

Grade 7 Groups you will be going to your Barons Blocks. At lunch you go immediately to the Sea Can Doors and eat lunch at Door 10 inside the school until Lacy and Doucet return to pick you all up for your afternoon skates.

Congratulations to the Varsity Women's Volleyball team who won their first ability round game yesterday against Ardrossan! It was a close one with the final set going to 19-17. Come cheer them on again today at a home game against Father Michael McCaffery at 5:30 pm

Canoe trip info: All Grade 10 students are invited to float the Sask this Friday – grab a field trip form from Mr. Faught, Mrs. Johnson, Mr. Petryk or Ms. Mundy.
Worship band is meeting today in the HS band room at lunch. If you have a musical talent you’d like to lend to our celebrations at school, come on out!
Braided Journeys will be open for lunch today for only junior high students.
