LSL Parent Fundraising Association

LSL Parent Fundraising Association

The LSL Parent Fundraising Association (PFA) is distinct group that works closely with the LSL School Council. Our main role is fundraising.

We provide a means for parents, guardians and community members to generate additional financial resources to support the school.

The LSL-PFA is a legal entity with distinct rules to follow. We are responsible for reporting on our activities and fall within the statutes of the Societies Act, Alberta Corporate Registry and Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission, depending on our fundraising activities.

Meetings

The LSL-PFA meets 5 times each year. Our meetings directly follow the LSL School Council meeting. Our meetings are held consecutively because many SC members are also involved with fundraising.

 Getting involved

All parents and guardians are invited to take part in the LSL Parent Fundraising Association. There are many ways to be involved, each with a varying level of commitment required.

Depending on your availability you may wish to consider a role on the PFA Executive (higher time commitment), coordinating an individual fundraiser (medium time commitment) or simply helping to distribute goods purchased through a fundraiser to community members (1-2 hour time commitment per fundraiser)

The LSL-PFA Executive Team is elected in September each year at the Annual General Meeting. This group consists of the President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. These positions are responsible for the ensuring the day-to-day operation of the association.

Parents or guardians looking to become involved in fundraising are welcome at any time in the year. To express your interest in being a part of the PFA please come to our next meeting or send a note to any member of our Executive team LSLschoolcouncil@gmail.com
